We will create our own 'Spring' paintings using natural and locally gathered and prepared inks, pigments and egg tempera paints. exercises exploring the nature of the artistic process, Sacred Art, Folk Ikons and the theme: 'attuning to the Spirit of the Season'
drawing inspiration from the wisdom, religious and folk traditions of the world as well as the seasonal cosmos within, and without
arriving at an image (e.g. a personification/Angel of Spring) representing the qualities of verdant renewal, growth, light-return, fertility, etc.
using high-quality handmade artist's materials including Studio-made mineral and plant pigments
engaging in the process of preparing materials from first principles,
creating in the beautiful surroundings of SAOG Studios and the wider Emerson College and Campus and all the extras that this wonderful place has to offer, eg, accommodation, meals, regular talks, concerts, performances, cafe etc.

access to the most glorious walks in the Ashdown Forest and surrounds - think blue bell woods at this time of year!!!
