Taking our inspiration from the fibre cultures of the Polynesian people we will learn how to weave beautiful birds to hang around the home in celebration of  Sun Return ...

We will warm our fingers with simple fish and star weaves before moving to the more complicated bird patterns.​

Learn how to draw a hexagonal comb/net with which we will cut and construct a beautiful 20-sided icosahedron ...

Painted Birds

Join Vija in painting cut-out card birds to hang on the Christmas tree or around the house to celebrate Sun return. We will be using our beautiful Studio-made paints made from natural earth and mineral pigments, gathered and processed with love and reverence; our medium will be watercolour and egg tempera. As well as learning the recipes for these glorious paints you will be guided through several designs and techniques for creating these joyful decorations.
